At Evolve Chesapeake, Chesapeake Creation Spirituality Community, we look through several lenses to understand the experience of the Divine in our lives.  One of our major lenses is Creation Spirituality, upon which we build our liturgical seasons and our weekly worship gatherings.

Creation Spirituality teaches that we are born of Original Blessing, not original sin, and is an antidote to the dominance of fall and redemption theology in Christian thought.  It honors four spiritual paths to know God in our lives.  These Paths are summarized as:  Awe and Wonder; Emptying; Creativity; and Transformation.

In addition to Creation Spirituality, we use the lens of liberation theology, the work of the Jesus Seminar, process theology, and historical critical Biblical interpretation.  When we share Communion, EVERYONE is invited to share the bread and cup as a witness to our belief that communion is a Rite of Hospitality because all are welcome at the Table of the Divine.
